Objective: This study is to compare the proportion of hyperglycemia in the OSAHS and controlgroups, and the level of fasting blood glucose in different degree of patients, and to study therelationship and influence mechanisms between OSAHS and hyperglycemia, including thecorrelation between AHI and fasting blood glucose groups.Methods:42cases of patients with OSAHS diagnosed by PSG were selected. Their fasting bloodglucose were tested. They were divided into mild, moderate and severe groups based on AHI and theSaO2.46cases of non-OSAHS were selected as control group. The proportion in the OSAHS withhyperglycemia and the value of fasting blood glucose were compared with each other. Thecorrelation between AHI and fasting blood glucose in OSAHS groups were analysed as well.Result:1) There were16(38.10%) and4(8.70%) hyperglycemia in the OSAHS and the controlgroups respectively. There was a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.05).2)13casesof hyperglycemia were found2cases (12.50%) in the mild,2cases (31.25%) in the moderate and9cases (56.25%) in severe groups respectively. The proportion in the severe group was significantlyhigher than the mild and the moderate groups (P<0.05).5cases were diagnosed as Diabetes inhyperglycemia group. They were all severe OSAHS patients.3) The level of fasting blood glucose inthe severe group was significantly higher than those in the mild and moderate groups (P<0.05). Thelevel of fasting blood glucose in the moderate group was significantly higher than that in the mildgroup (P<0.05). There was a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.05).4) There was apositive correlation between the fasting blood glucose and AHI in OSAHS groups (r=0.82,P<0.05).Conclusion: The proportion in the OSAHS with hyperglycemia group was higher than that ofnon-OSAHS group. The level of fasting blood glucose increased with the OSAHS exacerbating. There was a correlation between the level of fasting blood glucose and the AHI. The value of fastingblood glucose increased with the growth of the AHI.
