ObjectiveThis study was determined to program about Analysis of Variance for data of differentexperimental designs based on Excel2007software, in order to provide a set of the simple andaccurate application for medical researchers.MethodsAccording to the principles and the calculation formulas of analysis of variance for differentexperimental designs, the programs were designed and debugged by applying statisticalfunctions, math functions, logical functions, lookup functions, reference functions and mappingfunctions of Excel software etc. The difference of the statistical results of actual data werecompared between ANOVA Excel programs and the textbooks, SAS and SPSS.ResultsThe procedures of Analysis of Variance for data of different experimental designs was achievedin Excel, including completely random design, randomized block design, Latin square design,two stage cross-over design, factorial design, nested design, repeated measurement design andanalysis of covariance. The calculated results of Excel programs were consistent with the resultsof textbooks, SAS and SPSS. The developed Excel programs is reliability, simple, quicker andvisualized.ConclusionThe programs of Analysis of Variance for data of different experimental designs can beestablished by Excel, and the programs are characterized by its reliable results, simple operation,fast calculation and visualized interface.
