With the formation of China’s market economy and the accelerated pace of economic globalization, the market competition is more and more fierce. As one part of the market economy, hospital is the same stand in the test of the market. In the hospital course of business, hospital needs to not only have the necessary hardware facilities and health care, but also reduce its operating costs, so as to meet the growing demand for medical services, at the same time get in a market economy a competitive advantage. After facilities and health care services in the hardware up to a certain extent, hospital administrators should be possible to reduce costs. Reducing the operating costs of hospital in reason and efficiency, is a theoretical and practical significance of the subject.Based on existing research results, this paper researches on hospital supply chain from the perspective of the total cost of ownership, then constructs the model of total cost of ownership and analyzes the explicit and hidden costs in the hospital supply chain management process, which expands the scope of the hospital cost management, the hospital supply chain costs and operating costs can be combined by using this model; and based on the theory of cost driver, this paper finds the cost drivers to improve the effectiveness of hospital cost management, and provides method and basis for cost management of hospitals in a new perspective.Through a piece of high-value consumables for a case study, combining different data providers and hospitals own data, by using the model of TCO, this paper obtains the minimal cost and the best solution not only for a single supplier but also for the combination of different suppliers ,then explore the use of the total cost of ownership of hospital costs of applications and some of the issues to be addressed. Finally this paper gets the result that managing the operating costs of the hospital by using the model of the total cost of ownership is an effective cost management and with management philosophy and management approach improving gradually, the model of the total cost of ownership will also improve, making this model more practical.
