With modern life rhythm speed up day by day, high pressure, tension, sleep disorders cause braincognitive function decline, which affect people’s normal study, work and life. Different EEG signalsreflect different brain cognitive function state. Among them, alpha wave is one basic type of thebrainwaves, commonly detected by electroencephalograph (EEG) and dominantly found to originatefrom normal adults when they are awake, relaxed with the eyes closed. Alpha wave means humanbody is in the “relaxed alert” condition, which indicates subjective feeling comfortable, relaxed andfocused. Therefore, a lot of researches are devoted to find brain function treatment technology tostrengthen or induce alpha waves. And because external photic stimulation is simple, non-invasiveand low cost, it is widely used in the strengthening alpha waves. The goal of this study is to determinehow the EEG waves change when the healthy volunteers are exposed to external photic stimulation, which is based on the features that EEGs will show synchronization to exterior driving. Thesignificance of this study lies in proving and quantitative analyzing EEG “rhythm synchronization”effect. The conclusion is useful to provide the theory basis and the quantitative index for improvingbrain function state induced by photic stimulation. The main contents and innovative result of this study are as follows:(1)Study the artifact signal characteristics of EEG, and realize eye movement artifact separationof EEG by using Fast ICA blind source separation algorithm.(2)By using wavelet and wavelet packet theory, realize the extraction of EEG rhythm waves, analyze how the power spectrums of EEG rhythm waves change induced by alpha band photicstimulation, and realize linear characteristics analysis of EEG rhythm waves.(3)By using Lempel-Ziv complexity algorithm, study how the nonlinear characteristics of EEGalpha wave change induced by alpha band photic stimulation.(4) By using mutual information algorithm, study the function connection of EEG alpha wavebetween in different brain regions induced by alpha band photic stimulation.
