Background Capillary leak syndrome(CLS) is a serious postoperativecomplication of heart surgery by cardiopulmonary bypass. The manifestationsof Capillary leak syndrome mainly include systemic progressive edema,hypoalbuminemia, shock, and even multiple organ failure, which caused byreversible increased capillary permeability and plasma exudation. CLS hasclaimed a high mortality after long time heart surgery by cardiopulmonary bypassand a high morbidity in neonates and infants.Object To determine influencing factors of capillary leak syndrome (CLS) aftercardiopulmonary bypass in low weight infants with congenital heart disease aftercardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).Methods Clinical data were retrospectively collected and analyzed from infants(weight≤13Kg) who underwent CPB in our hospital between October2008and February2010. Several statistically significant influencing factors were screenedout with univariate analysis and independent influencing factors of CLS weredetermined with multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results The morbidity rate of CLS was multivariate logistic analysis showedthat age, weight and autoblood volume/priming volume (A/P) were lower inpatients with CLS than in those without CLS (P<0.01). Duration of CPB,duration of aortic cross-clamp and Risk Adjustment in Congenital Heart Surgery(RACHS) were higher in patents with CLS than in those without CLS (P<0.05).Logistic analysis showed the influencing factors of CLS were weight and A/P,A/P was the most important factor.Conclusion Autoblood volume/priming volume (A/P) is the main independentinfluencing factor of the incidence of CLS, weight has certain significance in theincidence of CLS.
