ObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between the level of plasma ECP and thedegree of coronary artery and the stability of atherosclerotic plaque.Andapproach the role of ECP in the development of coronary atherosclerosis.Methods49subjects who underwent conronary angiography acorrding to theircoronary angiographic results were divided into CHD group34cases andCG15cases which the percent of affection of any branch below30%.CHDgroup was divided into single—vessel(n=11),double—vessel(n=13)andtripple—vessel group(n=10), according to VH-IVUS results:12cases instable atherosclerotic plaque,22cases in unstable atherosclerotic plaque.The plasma example was collected from artery by arteriongraphyduct.Enzyme-Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay(ELISA) was used to measure thelevel of plasma ECP.The level of ECP between CHD and CG were compared,the relation between the level of ECP,the degree of coronaryatherosclerosis were compared and the level of ECP between stableatherosclerotic plaque group and the unstable atherosclerotic plaquegroup were compared. ResultThe level of ECP in the CHD group(24.6±7.9ug/L) was significantlyhigher than in the CG (8.8±3.1ug/L).The level of plasma ECP (ug/L)among the lesions of1、2、3vessels were14.6±5.5,20.3±5.3;26.2±6.3. Respectively and significantly postive correction(P<O.05—0.01)was found among ECP in the3and2、1vessel groups,2and1vessel group.Thelevel of ECP SP group was23.9±4.3ug/L and USP group was25.8±5.9ug/L,there had no significant diffrences.ConclusionThe level of ECP in the SAP group and ACS group were significatlyhigher than in the CG group,the level of plasma ECP are postivecorrelation with the number of stenosed coronary vessel.ECP acts aslikely an important role in the process of coronary atherosclerosis.Thelevel of ECP between SAP group and ACS group were nearly the same. We usedVH-IVUS to identify stable plaque and unstable plaque,and we proved thelevel of ECP between SP group and USP group had no significant diffrences.
