Objective: To explore the advantages of part-tubeless percutaneous comparingtraditional method in the treatment of renal and upper-ureteral calculiMethods:60patients who underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy when they werehospitalized in the urology of affiliated hospital of Hebei University during December2009toNovember2010were chosen. Of these60PNLs,30received neprhostomy part-tubelessmodification and the others insertion of the nephrostomy after the operation. There were nostatistical significant differences in sex and age between two groups.Operative time, postoperative hemoglobin change, hospital stay, cost, analgesia requirement andconvalescence period were compared in both groups. Results: No statistical significant differences were found with the time of operation, postoperative hemoglobin change, stone clearance rate, complication incidence between thepart-tubeless group and the control group(P<0.05).However,the part-tubeless group hadmuch more advantages in hospital stay, cost, pain, analgesia requirement and convalescenceperiod(P<0.05).Conclusions: In patients with no major intraoperative bleeding and calyceal perforation,part-tubeless approach is safe with decreased analgesia requirement and hospital stay.
