This study dividedvegetation typeson the abandoned dreg sites and gave some effective vegetation restoration suggestions. The main purpose is toimprove the level of abandoned dreg site’s ecological restoration and ecological landscape, and to reduce the cost ofvegetation constructionprojectinvestment, at the same time to provide a reference for further research.On the basis of field investigation, the study was conducted toevaluate the stability of the sampleby means ofsemi-quantitative method. The study screened key factorsin siteclassification by the principalcomponent analysis and take them as indicators of classification in site types. In addition, the study has come to the site type system ofabandoned dreg site in Ningxia by clustering analysis. The study can provide reference for scientific selection and distribution of vegetation types in abandoned dreg site by the investigation on sample area surrounding vegetation community and analysis of community types and their characteristics. The final results as follows:(1) A model for slope stability evaluationis built in this paper, and Ratio for legal method is used to determinethe weight of all functional factors by using Slope, slope height, slope shape, roughness, pumice, water gushingas affecting factors to slope stability.(2) The result offactor analysis showed that Slope type, slope height, average particle size, slope direction, micro topography and slope were the principal factors to determine the type division of abandoned dreg site in NingBeiarea. With clustering analyses,12site types of abandoned dreg site were classifiedaccording to the actual conditions of the areas, naming site types of abandoned dreg site by the combination of abandoned position, size level, slope shape, slope height, slope direction and slope.(3) Low plain soil s-shaped Yang gray linear high Yin slope gentle slope, channel, channel gravel rectilinear super gao steep slopes, gravel plains of rectilinear high steep slope of Yin and Yang, Yin and Yang are plain gray linear shape, high steep slopeThrough theinvestigation and statistics of vegetation community in sample area there are63species of plants, belonging to28families,50genus, including22species of herb,20species of shrubs and21species of trees. The study selected dominant species or vegetation communityfrom the respect such as elevation, gradient and slope direction. Some suggestions for vegetation restoration are put forwardcombining with site types of abandoned dreg site in ningxia.
