| Seed quality is vital to crop productivity and quality, and seed processing, storing and sowingprocess will affect the seed vitality. Studies show that seed initiations and high voltageelectrostatic field treatment play an important role to recover and improve seed vitality. So on thebasis of cucumber cultivar “Jizaoâ€,“Mingrenâ€, and “Dongnong806†as materials, this test is toconduct the research on the effect of chemical reagent initiations and high voltage electrostaticfield on the seed germination rate and seed vitality, so as to screen out the best way of cucumberseed pretreatment.1.“Dongnong806†cucumber seeds (harvested in2005) are processed and stored withdifferent chemical reagents. After1month of storage, the germination rate and vitality differ indifferent reagents and different concentrations of the same reagents, but the difference is notsignificant. After3months of storage, no significant differences exist. After5months of storage,there are no significant differences between treatment groups and seed germination rate under5ppm uniconazol and0.02%boric acid treatment is better.2. Cucumber seeds “Jizaoâ€(harvested in2002) are processed under high voltage electrostaticfield (HVEF). The seed physiological and biochemical indicators and other indicators are testedand analyzed under the different electrostatic field strength and different processing time. Theresults show that the intensity of HVEF and processing duration have a significant effect on thepercentage of seed germination. Seed germination rate of “Jizao†under25kV/cm,150s and30kV/cm,210s is81%, which is higher than other treatment combinations. The analysis ofphysiological and biochemical indicators shows that the relative conductivity is negatively relatedto the percentage of germination, and POD and activity of CAT is positive related to the percentageof germination.3. E listed at80%are mixed with imidacloprid at70%, and e listed at80%are missed withevil spirit at90%respectively according to different ratio as the main component, which are madeinto6seed coatings, and are tested on vitality. Results show that after coating of Formula1,3,5,6,the seed germination rate are higher than the control group, but the germination potential andgermination index of all the formulas decrease compared with control group, among whichFormula3is relatively suitable for cucumber seed coating treatment. Which are made into6seedcoatings, wild medium bacteriostatic effect with control group were significant differences. 4. Cucumber fresh male flowers, buds, and in vitro pollen are stored in different temperaturesin order to conduct research on influence on vitality and life span of pollen. Results show that inthe range4℃~25℃, life span of pollen extended with the drop of cucumber storage temperature.The life spans of pollen are respectively2hours,84hours and36hours longer under thetemperatures of-20℃,4℃,15℃than that in the control group of25℃. Among them, pollenvitality extension of fresh male flowers is longer. Compared5℃to15℃, stored duration of budvitality is longer, but low temperature has a negative effect on lowering and powdering of bud. Sobefore pollination a period of time under normal temperature is required to accelerate the maleflowers to bloom and loose powder. |
