In this study, different doses of60Co irradiated2trunk borers Monochamus alternatusand Mulberry longicorn, and made pairs with the healthy, female adults which werewithout irradiation. After the test, analyzing the effects of different doses to thefeeding, activities, mating, spawning, lifetime and progenies, and screening theoptimum radiation dose, dose rate and irradiation time to provide scientific basis forthe practical application of this technology. Meanwhile, the occurrence dynamics ofMulberry longicorn in forest and biological characteristics of adult weresystematically investigated in forest region and observed in the room, providing thebasis of effective prevention and control and forecast of the adult stage of Mulberrylongicorn.1.4different doses of60Co150gy,200gy,250gy,300gy irradiate the male adults ofMonochamus alternatus. The quantity of nutrition supplement in daily average wasrespectively2952,3830,3260,2484mm2. The quantity of excretion in daily averagewas respectively59,72,65,65mg. The quantity of nutrition supplement and excretionin daily average for comparison were3181mm2and60mg. T test results showed thedifferences between pre and post comparisons were not significant and the maleadults of Monochamus alternatus could still feed, move and excrete after beingirradiated with four doses of radiation2. After being dealt with4different doses of60Co150gy,200gy,250gy and300gy, theaverage life of the male adults of Monochamus alternatus were15.47,11.86,11.60,14.67d respectively. Compared with17.73d, t test results showed the differences werenot significant and without any effect to the life of Monochamus alternatus maleadults.3. Making pair with the male adults of Monochamus alternatus which being irradiatedwith4different doses and the normal female adults, and after breeding in the room, the number of the bite spawning groove of female adults were25.3,23.6,16.1and23.9. Compared with16.8, t test results showed there were no significant differencesand no influence to the mating between the male adults being irradiated and thehealthy female adults and to the bite spawning groove and spawning behavior.4. The results that the sample woods which being irradiated by60Co150gy200gy,250gy,300gy4, doses are no Monochamus alternatus raised larvae invades holes andlarvae, and control sample wood has larvae live hole and larvae, invading have live larvae0.64head per sample wood. Four doses of radiation treatment of Monochamusalternatus raised male fertility. From cost and efficiency consideration,60Co150gydose should be adopted on production.5. Based on the dynamic surveys poplars longicorn,511head longicorn werecollected (sawyer, light shoulder star longicorn, star longicorn, cloud spots, includingparasitical)492head Monochamus longicorn make up96.3%of total longicorn, confirmed that the main decay is Monochamus longicorn. In hefei, Monochamuslongicorn appeared at July peak, males than females for early1.08: in late July to Julypeak, female insect is the dominant longicorn. After July5, females insects.are morethan male.6. The results of interior feeding of Mulberry longicorn show that adult needs tocomplement nourishment all of life, compensatory nutrition (amount of16817.2feeding area mm2) per head; Male and female mate all life, preceding18d, mate formany times and gradually reduce, and the morning mating more than afternoon;Female insect bite spawning groove average33.4, average amount is24.5rate ofhatchability is95.9%; Adult females live32.3d. on average and male33.3d7.4different doses of60Co100gy,150gy,200gy,250gy irradiate the male adults ofMonochamus longicorn. The quantity of nutrition supplement in daily average wasrespectively1111,1261,1200,1070mm2. The quantity of excretion in daily averagewas respectively190,220,211,198mg. The quantity of nutrition supplement andexcretion in daily average for comparison were1200mm2and213mg. T test resultsshowed the differences between pre and post comparisons were not significant and themale adults of Monochamus longicorn could still feed, move and excrete after beingirradiated with four doses of radiation8. After being dealt with4different doses of60Co100gy,150gy,200gy and250gy, theaverage life of the male adults of Monochamus longicorn were29.3,30.7,28.3,16.3drespectively. Compared with33.3d, T test results, and contrast100gy, comparison,33.3d150gy,200gy doses no significant difference compared with controls, and250gy remarkable difference. Suggested that the former three doses irradiationMonochamus longicorn life of the male adult without influence, but250Gy haveobvious influence on the life.9. Making pair with the male adults of Mulberry longicorn alternatus which beingirradiated with4different doses and the normal female adults, and after breeding inthe room, the number of the bite spawning groove of female adults were39.1、23.6、 39.8and27.4. Compared with33.4, t test results showed there were no significantdifferences and no influence to the mating between the male adults being irradiatedand the healthy female adults and to the bite spawning groove and spawning behavior.10The result of larvae hatch,60Co150gy,200gy,250gy irradiation treatment were nolarvae hatched.100Gy irradiation have2larvae hatch,60Co150gy,200gy, and250gyfor Mulberry longicorn is sterile irradiation dose,60Co100Gy for Mulberry longicornis sub-sterile irradiation dose. From cost and efficiency consideration,60Co150gy doseshould be adopted on production.
