In this article,the seed of Ligusticum sinensise Olive.were selected as Experim ental materials,Through observing the morphology and determinating the germination c haracteristics of the seed in different havest time,parts and location, The appropriat e harvest time,parts and location of Ligusticum sinensise Olive. seed were investigat ed.Observing the germination differences between the acceptor seed of Umbelliferae and Non-Umbelliferae which the different concentrations extract of Ligusticum sinen sise Olive.seed affected,finding the law of inhibition the Ligusticum sinensise Olive. seed affected the acceptor seed. At the same time collecting the volatile oil of Lig usticum sinensise Olive.seed by the method of steam distillationt,the law of volatil e affected the acceptor seed of Umbelliferae and Non-Umbelliferae is been compare d to the extract. Whether the volatile oil of Ligusticum sinensise Olive.seed contain ed endogenous inhibitory substances was tested to consummate sleep theory of Ligust icum sinensise Olive.seed, The main results were as follows:(1)The shape of Ligusticum sinensise Olive. is ellipse or flat oval, brown-black or a little slightly brown, surface with roughness, with five protruding vertical edge w hich three of in the middle showed relatively flat, in the two sides expanded into w inged on the back.The ventral of the seed saged into crescent-shaped groove,the len gth and width of the seed is separately4~4.5mm,2~2.5mm. Thousand Kernel W eight (TKW) in five different harvest location were respectively1.4120g(Bailazhai)>1.3625g.1.1175g、0.8170g、0.9787g; TKW in four different harvest time were resp ectively0.3139g.0.5949g、0.9787g、1.3350g, the highest of1.3550gg of October30th, TKW in two different harvest part were respectively1.4790g、1.3190g.It is suggest s that TKW of Ligusticum sinensise Olive. was with the change of the harvest loca tion、harvest time and harvest part.(2)Significant differences of germination characteristics of Ligusticum sinensise Olive. existed in five different location(township of Bailazhai,Erbaxi and Sanlong whi ch belonged to the district of Maoxian, township of Xiaoba belonged to the district of Beichuan, township of Yongsheng belonged to Jinkouhe were concluded), Ger mination rate in the five location were respectively65.33%,61.33%,12.00%,10.00%,30.00%;Germination potential were respectively49.33%,54.00%,7.33%,6.00%,22.00%;Germination index were respectively12.73,12.63,1.50,1.30,4.60.(3)Significant differences of germination characteristics of Ligusticum sinensise Olive, existed in different harvest time(picked the seed on October15th,October20t h,October25th and October30th in the area of Jinkouhe,Leshan City.).The seed of picked on October25th showed a better performance on the germination rate(30.00%), potential (22.00%)and index(4.5995).It showed significant differences to the oth er three harvest time on the parts of germination rate and potential in the level of0.01, Which germination index of between October15th and October20th showed Significant differences.(4)Significant differences of germination characteristics of Ligusticum sinensise Olive.existed in different harvest parts(The main inflorescence and side of the inflore scence of the seed picked in township of Bailazhai).The seed of the main infloresce nce showed relatively good on the aspects of germination rate (72.00%), potential (62.00%) and index,9.33%higher than side of the inflorescence in the germination rate;23.33%higher than side of the inflorescence in the germination potential;8.29higher than side of the inflorescence in the germination index.(5)The extract of Ligusticum sinensise Olive.(concentration of20%,40%,60%,80%,100%)did varying degrees of negative effect to the seed of Umbelliferae(celery)a nd Non-Umbelliferae(Chinese cabbage, ryegrass and cucumber),the extract inhibited t he eceptor seeds(Chinese cabbage, ryegrass and celery) on the aspects of germinatio-n rate and radicle length, and this inhibition increased with the increase of extract conce ntration; Inhibition of the strength of relationships of germination rate the extract o n the receptor seeds:ryegrass> Chinese cabbage> celery> cucumber;The extract showed a appearance of low to promote high-control role,the extract in20%concentration played a role in promoting,however high concentrations of e xtract expressed as inhibition on germination rate, radicle length of cucumber enhanc ed inhibition with the increaseing concentration(6)The volatile oil inhibited the receptor seeds (Chinese cabbage, ryegrass,cucu- mber and celery), It was found that the volatile oil contained endogenous inhibitory substances of Ligusticum sinensise Olive., The inhibitory effect of volatile oi played the same effect with the extract of60% ̄80%. Inhibition of the strength of relations-hips of germination rate and radicle length the volatile oil on the receptor seeds:rye-grass> Chinese cabbage> celery> cucumber.In summary, Bailazhai was the sutiable harvest location, late October was the s-uitable harvest time,the quality of the main inflorescence was better than side of t-he inflorescence for the seed of Ligusticum sinensise Olive. Comparison of the extrac ts and volatile oilof Ligusticum sinensise Olive.seed on t-he receptor plant seeds,Vol atile oil of Ligusticum sinensise Olive.seed contained endogenous inhibitory substan ces which had inhibition on the common seeds of higher germination rate,but no o bvious selectivity of the families and genera.
