| Waxy corn from China is abundant in germplasm resources. However, the study on waxy corn is relatively late in our country. Breeders have developed a lot of waxy corn varieties. In contrast to common maize, the know and utilization of waxy corn are insufficient. The development of molecular biology provides plant genetics and breeding with molecular markers based on DNA polymorphism. Molecular markers are effective tools of plant diversity detection and genetic relationship of germplasm resource.(1) The genetic and cluster analysis of30waxy corn inbred lines is studied by SSR with30nucleus DNA SSR primers in the paper. According to above result,7waxy corn inbred lines are selected from groups.21crosses are made using7inbred lines by Griffing â…¡. Studing the relationship between the distribution in the group and heterosis or combining ability analysis, the results are as follows:(2)30waxy maize inbred lines are divided into two groups, which contain several subgroups. Group â… Aa includes JN1, JN10, JN9, JN5, JN8, JN6and group â… Ab includes JN3, JN7, JN59,While group â… B embraces JN34, JN33, JN51. Group â…¡A has JN2,JN38,JN41.Groupâ…¡Ba contains JN47, JN49, JN52, JN55, JN53, JN56and group â…¡ Bb contains JN54, JN35, JN50, JN57, JN48. JN37, JN39, JN44, JN46are in group â…¡C.(3) JN49×JN39,JN52×JN39,JN44×JN52,JN35×JN39,JN2×JN35,JN49×JN6have higher special combining ability (SCA) than the other crosses. The most of higher SCA’s parents are from different subsets. According to groups we can anticipate combinations of diverse inbred lines. In terms of the combination of subsets, we can select inbred lines which have higher combining ability. The selected waxy corn inbred lines cross the lines from different groups, in this way the crosses have high yields.(4) Microsatellite marker has many advantages such as a great quantity, extensive distribution throughout the genome, high polymorphism, vast information, Mendelian codominant inheritance, rapid and convenient detection. The advantage also includes specialization, good reproducibility, weatherproof and seasonproof. We can get new varieties by combining the advantages of molecular markers and the waxy maize breeding. |
