This paper studied on chemical compostion, pigment, protein and amino acid of Cordyceps militaris. On chemistry, the cultured Cordyceps militaris was crushed and extracted by petr oleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate, acetone and methanol. After that five extracts were obtained. They are the petroleum ether extract, chloroform extract, ethyl acetat e extract, acetone extract and methanol extract. Eight compounds were isolated from cultured Cordyceps militaris by methods of chromatography and recrystallization. Th eir structures were identified as5α-cholestan-3β-trans-oleate,1-Oleoyl-2-linoleoyl-3-pal mitoylglycerol, ergosterol,4,6,8(14),22(23)-tetraen-3-one-ergostane, β-sitosterol, ergoster ol peroxide, cerevisterol, mannitol on the basis of their thin layer chromatogram(TL C), MS,’H-NMR,13C-NMR and DEPT spectral data.5a-cholestan-3p-trans-oleate an d1-Oleoyl-2-linoleoyl-3-palmitoyl glycerol were isolated from the Cordyceps militaris for the first time.On pigment, compound IVL was got from petroleum ether extract by repeated sil ica gel column chromatography. It was identified as zeaxanthin on the basis of their thin layer chromatogram(TLC), HPLC-MS/MS, NMR and EI-MS spectral data.On protein and amino acid, determination and analysis of protein and amino acid components between wild Cordyceps militaris, cultured Cordyceps militaris, rice c ultivation of Cordyceps militaris and silkworm pupa are discussed. The order of tota1protein and amino acid in four samples is:silkworm pupa> cultured Cordyceps m ilitaris> wild Cordyceps militaris> rice cultivation of Cordyceps militaris. The per centages of human essential amino acids in wild Cordyceps militaris, cultured Cordy ceps militaris, rice cultivation of Cordyceps militaris and silkworm pupa are42.7%、42.9%、41.6%、40.4%.
