Watermelon (Citrullus Lanatus Thunb) is an important economic fruits and crops in China’sfacilities agricultural structure. China’s per capita arable land area is relatively small, by thelack of scientific development perspective lots of farmers pursuit of economic interests, andoften plant some kinds of crops in the facility, which resulted in the worsening of continuouscropping obstacles, that has threatened to the sustainable development of our facilitieswatermelon cultivation. Therefore, it’s very importment to research in the mechanism ofwatermelon continuous cropping obstacle. In this study, several aspects of the system from the soil physical and chemical properties, microbial flora, plant growth by watermelon facilities pot experiment alone watermelonlong-term continuous cropping and intercropping other crops even for the Populationfluctuation of soil nutrient conditions, changes in soil microbial diversity law, watermelongrowth law. Explore different intercropping mode to ease the watermelon even for the barriersto the internal mechanism. The main results are as follows:The intercropping experiments were carried out to study the watermelon growth and soilmicroflora characteristics in the soil of continuous cropping obstacles. The results showed thatthree intercropping treatment increased the growth of watermelon, particularly, the growths ofwatermelon’s height was1.24to1.81times with the control respectively, intercropping onionmade the best improvement in watermelon root parameters, such as watermelon root activitywas2.67times of the control. The numbers of bacteria and actinomycetes in the soil afterintercropping were increased by54.83%and48.00%than before and reached a significantlevel; intercropping onion also enhanced the total soil microbial of1.80-fold compared tocontrol. The onion intercropping could effectively increase watermelon plant height, chlorophyll content and root parameters, the numbers of soil microorganisms and faunasignificantly, which reduced watermelon cropping obstacles.
