On The Development Of Fishery Produces In Taihu Lake Area During The Ming&Qing Dynasties

Fishery is a kind of estate departments that people utilize water areas to obtain some aquatic plants and animals. Fishery is an important part of agricultural production and one of our country’s key industries.Taihu Lake area is a great place in which the nature resource is very plentiful Because of the unique abundant resource and the excellent cooperation between working people, the fishery in the Ming&Qing Dynasties made a big progress, undergone a fast developing phase, become one of the most advanced fishery areas in China, contributed a lot to the development of our country’s fishery and made some ignorable contribution.Now, no matter from economic aspect or ecological aspect, there are a lot of study on the development of fishery in Taihu Lake area. However, the author argues that from the history and philology aspect, the research about the history of fishery of Taihu Lake in the Ming&Qing Dynasties is not comprehensive enough and deep enough. In order to study production technology, fish fostering, and the rudiment of ecology agriculture in Taihu Lake of the Ming&Qing Dynasties, the author has collected and analyzed a large number of original materials, such as historical data, recordation, along with many books, magazines and papers, Based on these, the author has accomplished this paper. This paper includes the following four parts.Firstly, in term of the background and development history, research is made on the hydrology, hydrographic net, specialty goods and the development of fishery produces in Taihu Lake from pre-Qin Dynasty to the Ming&Qing Dynasties. The author figures out that with particularly favourable natural conditions in Taihu Lake area, the development of fishery appeared a slow but steady growing trend in history.Secondly, this paper introduces mainly on the development of fishery of the Ming&Qing Dynasties. The author points out that at the time of the Ming&Qing Dynasties the fishing-boats, fishing-gears and fishing methods were more advanced than before, so the production capacity improved a lot, and get the unprecedented peak in history.Thirdly, this paper expatiates on that the development of the fostering fishery produces during the Ming&Qing Dynasties, mainly included the selection to the kind of fishes, the proportion of polyculture, cultivated technology, feeding and management of mature fishes,. At that time a few people had devoted themselves to fishery, and there had been many large-scale centralized areas for fish-farming.Fourthly, this paper introduces such form of the primary ecological agriculture as rice field fish culture, mulberry fish pond., and expatiates on the indispensable importance of fishery in Taihu Lake at the time of the Ming&Qing Dynasties, meantime, we also analyzes the modern value of integrated operating model in Taihu Lake at the time of the Ming&Qing Dynasties.At last, this paper analyzes and summarizes the character of the fishery in Taihu Lake during the Ming&Qing Dynasties. We should learn from the historical experience, and use such positive factors as natural condition and materials to contribute to our society. This may inspire local residents how to implement the Scientific Outlook on Development and to achieve Sustainable Development.
