Studies On The Techniques Of Green Asparagus Cultivation For Changshu

This paper analyzed the reasons for the failures to the production of green asparagus in Changshu. The city’s favorable conditions and the main limiting factors for production of green asparagus also be discussed. Proposes to use the protected cultivation to avoid rain and insects. Then studied the types and the way to improve to the plastic film greenhouse. At last, the adaptability of three new asparagus cultivar in the city and the high quality and yielding cultivating technology are researched in this paper.This study concluded as follows:1. Changshu has good climate conditions, abundant rainfall. And the soil, sunshine can fully satisfy the green asparagus’s growth. At present the local and surrounding population have a great potential of consumption. To develop the production of green asparagus is good.2. By analyzing the reasons for the failure to production of green asparagus and find the main limiting factor is the rain period and the suitable temperature that cause Stem Blight of Asparagus which spread rapidly. The secondary factor is the cultivar and serious pests. The solution to the problems is to use the protected cultivation the right cultivar and to develop pollution-free production.3. The plastic film greenhouse for green asparagus now is the improved greenhouse based on the GP622-type. by comparison, the GP622-type’s increased temperature and the capability of heat preservation of in early spring are better. But the improved-type rely on the natural ventilation in summer, cooling capacity than the GP622-type greenhouses has increased which meet the needs of asparagus’s growth. And adding the insect-preventing net(20mesh) can isolate asparagus from armyworm pests hazards.4. By introducing three new cultivar of asparagus(Atlas, Purple passion, Apollo) to grow in the city, find the protected cultivation can make the asparagus have high yield, good quality, disease-resistance and good adaptability. Purple passion is polyploidy and is purple. the output is lower than the other two species, but its quality is better than the other two species after Comprehensive evaluation, the city’s conditions are fit for these three cultivar’growth. Through the planting from2008to2009, studied the high-yield cultivation techniques under the conditions of greenhouse cultivation of green asparagus.5. We determined soil improvement effects by applying different amounts of organic manure. The results showed that application of2,000kg per667m2can increase soil fertility, improve soil physical properties and achieve high-yield of asparagus.6. We proposed technical regulations of Changshu greenhouse production of asparagus, based on the experiment and relevant literature.
