Bupleurum chinense DC. is the scientific name of honewort, which is demand for great. Because of people’s predatory nature of the private mining indiscriminate digging, the wild resources decreased seriously, and artificial planting honewort is taken the place of wild resources to be the main medicinal source. However, the output and quality of artificial planting honewort is poor, and the germplasm resoruce of artificial planting honewort is hybrid. The high yield and high quality honewort cultivars need to be breed in order to develop the industry of the artificial planting honewort.The experiment studied the genetic diversity and provide the basis for identifycation and classification of different kinds of honewort from Shanxi Province. Genetic similarity coefficients, genetic distance and dendrogram of them is analyzed by RAPD. We contrasted the seed germination rate and activity, probed into the influence of different treatment on the germination rate and compared different methods on the honewort transplanting. The botany characters of the annual tube plants and the annual plants germinated from seeds of honewort was also researched.RAPD analysis showed that high genetic diversity of genetic variation occurs in different populations of honewort in Shanxi Province. The genetic relationship among wild populations is closer than the one among wild populations and artificial planting populations which is closer on situation.We screened5types of honewort in which the Saiko Saponins content is high. The germination rate of seed which from Yangqu is obviously more than the other regions. The germination rate of seed would be improved obviously when make1.5%H2O2treatment. The germination rate of seed except the one from Yangqu would be improved obviously when make1.5%6-BA treatment. When make GA3treatment, the start time and the rush hour of seed germination can be delayed and the seed germination rate would be reduced. The shade and intercropping with sesame would enhance uniformingly growing seed preservation, the germination rate of seed would be improved obviously when treat with them.Both of the methods on the honewort transplanting have been compared and analysed, the result showed that survival rate of hardening plantlets is higher, it would be perfect for the transplanting of the tube honewort which is weak or lack. Transplanting without hardening is less time-consuming and more economical, it would be perfect for the transplanting of the tube honewort which is strong and sufficient. Compared all types of honeworts, we find that various botany characters of annual tube plant are superior to the annual plant germinated from seeds. The root yield of the former is higher obviously, and tube plants grew more coordinately. Among the tube honeworts, the one from Ruicheng grew most exuberantly and it is the only type to bloom, the one from Zuoquan grew most coordinately. Among the honeworts germinated from seeds, the one from Yangqu grew most exuberantly, the yield and quality of its root is also better than the others.The experiment showed the botany characters of several annual honeworts, laid the foundation to study the botany characters of honeworts next annual, supplied scientific evidence for breeding an excellent variety which is suitable to be cultivated in Shanxi province.
