Turfgrass mixtures has been became one of the main ways of sports ground turfgrass and urban green land. This research involved the effects of nitrogen levels and mowing height which are two of the most important turfgrass cultural practices on the turfgrass mixture of Tall fescue(F.arundinacea Schreb.) and Zoysia (Z.japonica Steud.) grass. The objective is to select the more suitable cultural practices for the turfgrass mixture of Tall fescue and Zoysia grass. Make the turfgrass mixture giving full play to advantages of Zoysia grass growing vigorously in the summer to make up for Tall fescue which grows slowly or dead in the summer, and giving full play to advantages of Tall fescue in the spring or autumn to make up for Zoysia grass which is insufficient in the spring or autumn. In this study, there are three levels of nitrogen application rate with10g N/m2·y20g N/m2·y and40g N/m2·y respectively; there are two levels of mowing height with5cm and7.5cm. There is an analysis and comparison to each treatment in turfgrass mixture, from turfgrass comprehensive evaluation, aboveground biomass, branches, coverage and uniformity. The results show that it should be mowed at a height of7.5cm and fertilized at a rate of10g N/m2·y when turfgrass mixture was made up of low or middle density of Tall fescue and improved Zoysia grass. The turfgrass mixture which was made up of low density of Tall fescue and improved or common Zoysia grass should be fertilized at a rate of10g N/m2·y. The improved was mowed at a height of7.5cm and the common was mowed at a height of5cm because growth of improved Zoysia grass is stronger than the common. It should be mowed at a height of7.5cm when turfgrass mixture was made up of middle density of Tall fescue and improved or common Zoysia grass. The improved was fertilized at a rate of10g N/m2·y and the common was fertilized at a rate of40g N/m2·y because growth of improved Zoysia grass is stronger than the common.
