With the rapid development of railway line for passenger traffic construction in China, high-speed EMU are operating in expanding scope. Automatic train control system (ATC) is used widely in high-speed EMU. On the basic of generalizing existing states of ATC system at home and aboard, the simulation of high-speed train ATC, which Beijing-Tianjin high-speed EMU is an example, was researched in this paper.On the basic of making an approach to traction calculation of train work theory and ATC theory, a multi-mass train model was applied and calculation method of ATP control mode curve was researched in this paper. After analyzing train running characteristic, the shortest running time ATC strategy which can meet the comfort requirement and bases on communication with ground signals was proposed. A high-speed ATC system simulation software based on TCP/IP protocol was designed and developed by Visual C++. The automatic operation program which is suitable for Beijing-Tianjin high-speed EMU was developed on the basic of the existing train traction computerization software.The results of Beijing-Tianjin high-speed EMU automatic running which were calculated by the software developed in this paper coincided with the actual running results. Therefore, the software can be used in research of high-speed EMU safety running and operation technique.On the platform of software developed in this paper, the operation evaluating system of high-speed EMU driver was developed preliminarily, which can be developed into a training tool for high-speed EMU drivers.
