| Auto body modification design is an important means of vehicle development, and the rapid development of new auto body models is the key to succeed in the auto market. So research on the new methods of auto body modification and the key technology in the progress of modification is significant important.The current research status on methods of auto body modification and the key technology in the progress of modification both at home and abroad is overviewed. A new method of auto body modification is provided after analyzing a variety of body modification method and key technologies has been existed. Several parts are given in this paper:(1) The requirement and characteristics of auto body styling and drawing method of styling sketches are introduced. The characteristics and representation of curves and surfaces are proposed, according to the characteristics of surface, put forward the B spline curve is used to express the auto body surface. The meaning and the process of hard point for modification design is proposed; the determination of hard point is presented according to the car, the parts, the dimensions, the styling and the rules.(2) The surface construction techniques of the auto body modification design were studied. Firstly, the extraction technology of two dimensional modeling sketch contour line forms the creative shape figure was researched. And the technology of2D contour line turns3D contour line. Secondly, the continuity conditions between surface modeling and the influence of control points to curve surface shape is studied, and draw a conclusion. At last, the evaluation method of modification surface modeling was studied.(3) According to the optimized auto body modification method, an auto was modification designed. And a new modification of3D digital model was created. And its appearance, surface quality, manufacturing technology, was evaluated. The results show that the auto body modification design methods and key techniques are feasible and correct. |
