Based on the research on mechanism of failure and deformation of thek128+900~k129+400embankment of Dashan highway, measure the deformationplacement of embankment in situ monitoring and analysis the deformationcharacteristic, stress state and the mechanical status of consolidating structure ofhigh-filled embankment of soft foundation. Combining the stability results ofembankment with rigid-body limiting equilibrium process, appraise the calculationstability of the embankment. At last, predict the deformation after constructedembankment and appraise the effect on consolidating embankment. The contents andconclusions of the article are summarized as follows:(1)Summarize the deformation-failure feature and destruction characteristics,proclaim the evolutionary process and mechanisms of deformation and failure ofembankment and analysis the effect of deformation embankment in factors of thedepth of fillings and silty clay, rainfall free and surface condition.And the degree todeformation of embankment decreases in turn from the depth of fillngs to free surface.(2)By monitoring the apparent horizontal and settlement displacements of thedeformation embankment, the monitoring results tell that the settlement is prominentresponse in the road roughness profilomefer range, the horizontal deformation is mainresponse in the dith and downstream and the deformation is excessive during themiddle areas.(3)Analysis and study on the deformation characteristic and stress state ofthree sections in the different conditions which include natural state,rainstorm stateand consolidated state. These sections which are3-3,6-6and8-8sections are located in the1#~3#ravines in the deformed region. The results of numerical stimulationshow that the deformation of embankment increases in the natural stimulation and arefurther than natural stimulation in the rainstorm stimulation。But the deformation ofembankment can be controlled and the stability of embankment has been improvedafter consolidated embankment.(4)Adopt the right-body limiting equilibrium process to carry out thesensitivity analysis on rock of silty clay which is the effect of the stability ofembankment, determine the mechanical parameters of silty clay for calculating thethree selected for the stability of calculated sections and analysis the stabilityconditions of potential slip side cast of embankment in the natural and rainstorm state.The results calculated shows that the stability of the selected sections doesn t meet thestandard requirement and need reinforcement, the embankment is in instability state.Based on the recheck computation for stability of embankment, the calculating showsthat the stability coefficient of embankment has been improved and has meet thestandard requirements.(5)Select the right method of the deformation prediction to forecastdeformation after constructed embankment, balance the deformation prediction alongthe hyperbolic method, exponential method and Asaoka method, the analysis showsthat along the selected methods, the best one is Asaoka method, the second one isexponential method, the last one is hyperbolic method. The result of assessment inAsaoka method shows that the deformation increment and amplification also are lessand the embankment is stable in normal conditions.
