Study On Tourism Industry Supply Of Node-city Influenced By High-speed Railway

The invention of modern transportation is the prerequisite of tourism industry. With the characteristics of high speed, large volume of passenger and good security, high-speed railway enables tourism destination to increase its accessibility and enlarge its tourist market. On the other hand, high-speed railway requires a higher level of tourism supply of the destination, including tourism attraction, tourism accommodation and services, tourism investment, tourism human resource and tourism environment. All the supply factors will be restructured and optimized under the influence of high-speed railway, so that they can meet the changing and increasing market demand better.Xi’an is a traditional tourism city as well as a transportation hub of the central and western regions. With the case study on Xi’an, this paper established an index system to evaluate the tourism supply of node-city under the influence of high-speed railway and analyzed the change of tourism supply factors, in order to provide reference to the development of tourism industry of Xi’an.This paper can be divided into three parts as below.Part One includes Cha1and Cha2. Firstly it introduced the background, methods, contents and objectives of the research. Secondly it summarized the related theories and current research on the topic of high-speed railway and tourism. Then it defined the main definitions in this paper.Part Two is the main part this paper, Cha3, Cha4and Cha5included.Based on the analysis of the development of tourism industry and high-speed railway of Xi’an, Cha3proved that there’s a high correlation between high-speed railway and tourism industry by applying GRA (Grey Relational Analysis) method.Cha4established an index system to evaluate the tourism supply of node-city under the influence of high-speed railway by using the methods of AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and Delphi. Comparing Xi’an, Wuhan and Nanjing, it is found that the tourism supply level of Xi’an is the lowest among three under the influence of high-speed railway, however the trend is going up with great potential. The supply factors which need to be improved and enhanced are also identified during the evaluation and analysis. Cha5elaborated on the influence of high-speed railway on tourism spatial structure, tourism business model and tourism public services of Xi’an, and it put forward the suggestions and advices on promoting the merging development of tourism industry and high-speed railway.Part Three, namely Cha6, concluded this research and pointed out the insufficiencies, also it prospected the research on high-speed railway and tourism industry.
