The research about land use and land cover is very popular in recent decades athome and at board. The land is inseparable with our lives and also which is the mostvaluable natural resource given us as the gift by the earth and is the condition of oursurvival.Land use classification and the change of land use can reflect the layout ofone city as well as the direction of the city’s development.Using land reasonable andhealthy can better serve the life of the people. At the same time, making each inchland more valuable is our bounden duty. Hubei Province is the heart of the countrydue to the unique geographical location and Wuhan is the capital city of Hubei. Thedevelopment of Wuhan can impact on the economic development of Hubei provinceand the image of Wuhan directly. The analysis of spatial and temporal characteristicsof land use in Wuhan city can impact the environment change significantly. Land useand land cover will bring the impact on the atmospheric environment, climate effects,the soil environmental effects, water environmental effects, ecological environmenteffects.This paper study the district (JiangXia district and the WuChang district) fromthe following aspects.In this study area, we mainly study the evolution of the types ofthe land use as well as the change of the land use.(1) Using three remote sensing data (1991, TM5;2002, TM7;2010,data of HJ) toanalyze the types of the land use in the study area. They are divided into sixcategories, grass land, woodland garden, cultivated land, rural residential andindustrial land, water, and unused land.(2)Using the ARCGIS9.3software of the transition matrix of the land use tostudy the three remote sensing data in the study area, that is to say, we want to studythe change of land use in20years. From1991to2002, the area of the grassland andthe rural residential and industrial land are increased, the others are in inclined. From2002to2010, the area of the rural residential and industrial land, cultivated land, woodland and garden land are on the increased,the others are in declined.(3)Studying the direction of the land use and the driving force of the change aboutthe land use from three aspects, land use dynamic degree, the amplitude of the landuse change, the driving force fact of the land use change. Using the mathematicsmodels and principal component analysis with the software SPSS19.0. In theaspects of the speed in the land use, the fastest speed is unused land, followed by thecultivated land. Respectively8.589,5.854. In the range of the land use, the areas ofthe woodland and garden land are increased by0.9%, cultivated land increased2.63%every year and so on, by the principal component analysis, the main factorsinfluenced land use are the second industry,the total retail sales of consumer goods,GDP, the polices.(4)The summary and the outlook of the land use change. some requirements areraised on the outlook, such as the analytical model prediction of the land use,and theneed of the high resolution data and so on.
