The Influence Analysis Of Bus Stop On Road Capacity

The bus stop as one important component of the bus running, is widely distributed in all parts of the city, and it is the infrastructure of public transport which can provide service and meet demand of passenger’s travel. With the development of public transportation, the number of bus stops and bus lines is increasing, which has growing influence in highway capacity. So, based on the existing relevant research on highway capacity, this article mainly researches the following contents.First of all, this paper analyzes the classification of the bus stop and the applicability of the various types of site based on reading the research literatures. Based on the analysis of bus running characteristics and docking law, a variety of sites have been selected for the actual survey, and the detailed data that include the characteristics such as the number of vehicles docked at the section of bus stops and arrival probability is received. The survey data of the bus arrival time and bus stop time is fit distribution.Secondly, on aspect of bus stop’s effect on road capacity, this paper discuss the effect time of bus stop on the capacity of neighboring lanes of road side and harbor-style bus stops, where the buses are overflowed and unoverflowed. In different road conditions, such as single-lane, multi-lane, whether to set up bus lanes, the degree of affection of bus stop to the road capacity is different. This article focuses on the affection of bus stop to the capacity of neighboring lanes in four common case of bus stops setting, and put forward the capacity reduction model of the neighboring lane affected by bus stop in road condition of two-lane and without bus lane.Finally, on aspect of bus stop’s effect on capacity of intersection, this article mainly researches the intersection with priority of the main road in unsignalized intersection. The M3model of calculating the capacity of unsignalized intersection is improved. in the aspect of signalized intersection, this paper mainly analyzes the effect of bus stop on the capacity of signalized intersection with bus lane.
