The issue of uneven settlement of the subgrade has been the quality problems existed in highway construction, it’s also a problem that engineering and technical personnel have been committed to research and seek to solve. During the course of highway construction, particularly the construction of subgrade, will encounter different geological conditions. It’s also under the influence of various external factors, so how to ensure that roadbed and subgrade slope stability is the key to keep roads free and its normal use. On the basis of theoretical analysis, this essay combines with dayi Road construction of a bentonite roadbed to apply study, and analyzes and summarizes the formation mechanism of the embankment differential settlement types and the main factors of bentonite. It also selects appropriate treatment measures to ensure the overall stability and strength of the roadbed and the embankment slope. The essay use the large-scale finite element software ABAQUS to simulates settlement deformation of the foundation and use the numerical simulation to provide an adequate basis and the basis for the project application for more in-depth analysis.
