| In the world shipping industry, due to improper cargo loading and unloading which leads to insufficient ship stability or makes ship strength fail to meet the requirements, ship capsizing accidents and hull fracture accidents happen at times. Therefore, it draws great attention of how to effectively address the safety problems during cargo loading and unloading.Normally, during the process of cargo loading and unloading, the ballast water will be adjusted by the crew. And in most of the domestic practice, ballast water is adjusted according to the field situation and the operator’s experience. This not only needs a lot of manpower, but also is unable to guarantee the safety during the cargo handling, and hasn’t realized the automatic loading control. Aiming at security problems during cargo loading and unloading, this paper is to achieve the greatest degree of security, monitoring the change of ballast water of the ship during loading and unloading on the basis of the characteristics of level telemetry system. Through the control of ballast water, it makes the ship meet the performance requirements, to ensure cargo safety during the entire process of loading and unloadingFirstly, This paper conducts a comprehensive research on liquid level telemetry system from its structure, installation requirements of liquid level sensors, functions and features of the system and comparative analysis of commonly used measuring methods of liquid level telemetry system, selecting pressure type liquid level sensor and explaining its working principle, proving that monitoring of ship ballast water in the process of loading and unloading of goods change is feasible, on the basis of the liquid level telemetry. Then from the point of ship loading and unloading safety, the paper analyzed the effect of the performance of ship loading by ballast water, and revised the calculation accuracy of water level the ballast water to improve the sensors’accuracy. Through calculation of real ships, it has been made clear that the relationship between cargo handling capacity and the amount of the ballast water. The control of the loaded cargo in each compartment by adjusting ballast water demonstrations that the adjustment of ballast water can monitor the safety of the ship during cargo handling. This makes it necessary to monitor the water level of ballast water. And with Windows as operating system, using Visual C++as programming language and Microsoft SQL Server as database development tools, this paper designed a human-machine interface which can monitor the ballast water. The sensors in the monitored area collect data, based on liquid level telemetry system, real-time monitoring the changes of liquid levels of all tanks. Through collecting and calculating the amount of liquids such as ship ballast water, the system has realized the real-time monitoring of the ship during loading and unloading operation. |
