Since the implementation of Ships’Routeing, it has played an active role in reducing and avoiding the maritime traffic accidents, improving the navigation safety situation, preventing marine environment pollution, improving navigation efficiency and so on. As the main organization form and the implementation type of ships’routeing, Traffic separation scheme has been widely development throughout the world. So far the traffic separation scheme which had been adopted and implementated by the international maritime organization (IMO) has reached162, including259traffic separation schemes.In order to guide the establishment and implementation of ships routing system for the countries of the world, IMO files《the general provisions of the ships routing system》 make specific provisions on planning principles and design criteria of traffic separation scheme. First, This paper have introduced the concept, design principles, implement methods and other related theory of traffic separation scheme, and done research on the components in detail, and on this basis, statistics and classify the traffic separation scheme adopted by IMO. Due to the design rule of traffic separation scheme may be different in different waters, in this paper,259traffic separation schemes can be divided into traffic separation scheme in coastal waters, traffic separation scheme in spit water, traffic separation scheme in narrow way waters, traffic separation scheme in waters in and out port, and traffic separation scheme in other waters, and choose the traffic seperation scheme in coastal waters as the further research object, statistics the situation on combination with other measures, and gets the detailed data on constituent elements, for example, the traffic lane width, length, steering Angle, offshore distance, the separation zone width, etc. Then the paper has carried on the cluster analysis to the traffic separation scheme in coastal waters based on the statistical data of constituent element, and takes a real-time observation on traffic factors in the waters of one of the most concentrated type of traffic separation scheme, gets the basic data of traffic factors. Finally the paper do the multiple linear regression between the constitute elements and traffic factors, linear between each components and traffic factors expression, digging out the design rules on constitute elements of traffic separation scheme.In this paper, the data analysis of traffic separation scheme elements and the mining rule was done with the aid of SPSS software, the final result has important reference meaning for design and evaluation of traffic separation scheme in the future.
