As a new compression system based on the shock wave compression, ram-rotor integrates the designing methods of supersonic aircraft intake and compressor. By taking advantage of rotation of wheel disc in high speed, it creates the condition in which the surrounding airflow of the intake of ram-rotor is relative to supersonic flow, so that the shock wave is produced to compress the gas. It possesses the characteristics of being high pressure ratio, light weight, small size and so on. Compared with subsonic and transonic compressor, the working theory of ram-rotor and the characteristics of being smaller in flow space determine the more complex and intensified existence of mutual interference of shock wave and shock wave, shock wave and boundary layers, which causes the boundary layers to separate easily and results in the decrease of ram rotor performance. Up to now, the domestic and international study on the ram rotor has still been exploration period basically and complex flow mechanism of ram rotor still needs further study.This paper mainly focuses on the research of the influence on the overall performance of ram-rotor in different position when performing suction.This research mainly includes three parts:In the first part, it mainly introduces the numerical simulation tools--FLUENT, the basic control equation adopted, turbulence model, governing equation, the critical elements of calculating grids and its quality, boundary conditions, and the standard of judging the iterative convergence.In the second part, I just conduct the numerical research on the features of ram-rotor flow field. By using3D modeling software UG and numerical simulation software FLUENT, we just carry on the study on three-dimensional modeling and numerical simulation. What’s more, we just analyze the features of inner flow, shock wave structure and the separation of the boundary-layers.In the third part, focusing on the separation of the ram rotor boundary-layers, we do the numerical study on the hub of the ram rotor in different position during suction. And we analyze the impact of hub in different suction position on the shock waves system, boundary layer separation and its performance, such as pressure ratio, efficiency and so on. Finally, we can obtain the best suction position of the hub.
