Based on previous studies and damage status of Huizhou ancient shrine, according to "the damaged point" written in "Technical code for maintenance and strengthening of ancient timber buildings" and subordinating degree function written in "Standard of dangerous building appraisal", combined quantitative and qualitative, to evaluate the safety of structure. It is more scientific that this comprehensive safety evaluation method used a combination of the quantitative evaluation compared with the traditional evaluation method of timber structure. This paper, taking Promoting Hall in Shexian county in Anhui province as research object, focusing on safety evaluating and reinforcing design, using SAP2000built the3-D finite element model of Promoting Hall, modal analysis shown that the main frame and calculated the internal force and displacement of beams and columns, judging it safe or not by the specification of timber structure. Combined the traditional construction technology of timber structure, put forward a plan of reinforcement and the construction proposals for providing theoretical basis and practical reference of reinforcement of Huizhou ancient shrine.
