With the rapid development of commodity economy and information industry, in order to improve the international competitiveness of enterprise, the brand has become such important. Today, the economic globalization is around us, but China’s own brand is rarely on the world stage back on its feet. Go back to the old days, history already told us that once we had a lot of excellent national brands, but it is a pity that all these brands are no longer exist today. This essay takes seagull cameras for example, an old Shanghai brand. From the viewpoint of the industry, product, brand, and combined with the era background, the essay analysis the lifeline of seagull brand by using the methods of data analysis and case comparison analysis. As you can see its development is closely associated with the timely background. Its decline, the surface reason is the foreign outstanding products coming into the market, but actually reflect the system lags behind, resulting in industry as the lack of forward-looking, the lack of product standards, and many other problems. When this local brand competed with the brand all around the world, these problems are exposed. Still the seagulls’contribution is understandable, for half a century, it recorded the history of China’s social development of national life in details. Seagull has had a profound impact on classical model4series, once become the camera model design and manufacture, is the highest penetration of a camera, even a special memory in the heart of many Chinese. It firstly increased the export exchange, and then the seagull brand became the key to the path of revival. The ultimate goal of this article wants to arouse the last generation of users’memories, at the same time cultivate a new generation of advocates, create the brilliance of a seagull, and gives reference to the development of similar Chinese brands.
