Architecture Morphology Of Bing3District In Panzhihua City

Panzhihua (previously named Dukou) in Sichuan Province, bordering Yunnan, which sits in the confluence of Jinsha River and Yalong River, is abundant in mineral, water, forest resources together with unique climate resources, thus known as the "best cornucopia". With the call of Three Line Construction proposed by the Central Committee in1965, an newly-built industrial city has become its substitute, aimed mainly at metallurgy, as well as resource development.It has passed through48years since1965, Panzhihua has experienced6overall city planning, transformed from the initial mining city to a present landscape livable modern industrial one. However, located in the special mountainous environment, it has problems of steep slopes, dangerous terrain, limited architectural area. With the purpose of presenting proposal and measures of shaping the architectural forms for a new city at the moment of implementing the6th city planning, the author summarizes the architecture forms in the past by reviewing the history of the city’s construction, analyzes the location, landform of present buildings in the New District construction, and also summarizes their architectural form through the study of details of buildings and the main traffic nodes.
