Ultrasonic detectting is one of the most important techniques of non-destructing detectting. Ultrasonic detectting has been widely used in the field of industrial production, online quality control and medicine detectting, because ultrasonic detectting has many advantages such as high testing reliability, comprehensive test range and quick testing speed. With the rapid development of modern science and technology, ultrasonic testing development towards automation, intelligence, digital and visualization has been greatly promoted.Connecting rod is the critical component of engine. The contact between the small hole of connecting rod and bushing constrain the performance of connecting rod. At present, the destructive spot-checking method is usually used to detect the contact, which has these disadvantages such as workpiece wasted, low reliability,and inefficiency. We detect the contact by the method of ultrasonic testing in this subject.This paper bases the theroretical of the ultrasonic pulse-echo detection method,as the purpose of industrial applications as the hardware core ARM development platform and the ultrasonic transmitter and receiver and acquisition circuit, as the embedded Linux for the software development platform,designed for connecting rod bushing fit testing ultrasonic testing system.First introduces the history and development of ultrasonic testing status, indicating the research background and significance, explores the basic theoretical knowledge of ultrasonic testing. This paper focuses on the hardware system design, which includes ultrasonic transmitter circuit and receiving the echo signal acquisition circuit; software design side, successfully embedded Linux operating system ported to ARM development platform, and accordingly developed some drivers which as a basis of the next data processing.In the end of this paper, the research work of the subject is summarized, and the author gives some technical prospects for further studies.
