Marine diesel generator sets is an important part of the marine electric propulsion system and its stability decides the reliability of the entire electric propulsion system.Establishing the simulation models which can accurately reflect the operating characteristics of the diesel generator sets is of great significance both for the theoretical study of marine power station or the practical applications.Different with the past simple simulations only use software, in this paper the software and hardware were combined to build a semi-physical simulation platform of the Marine diesel generator sets and complete a more realistic simulation model.First, the overall marine electric propulsion system structure and operation mechanism are introduced, and the overall concept of establishing the diesel generator sets semi-physical simulation platform is proposed combined the diesel generator set control and communication in the existing software and hardware conditions. Second, the mathematical model is summed up from the working principle and dynamic characteristics of the diesel engine and its governor, also diesel engine and its governor simulation model is established by using the LabVIEW software. Third, the inverter induction motor system transfer function parameters are obtained from the data get through experiments using the system identification method, thus the system is corrected to reduce the affect of diesel models accuracy by the hardware interia. Meanwhile, based on tbe PLC-PPU generator sets control circuit drawings, the speed control signal acquisition and the digital-analog converter are completed.Then, this control signal handled by diesel model in the NI online emulatior LabVIEW is sent to the inverter, and the induction motor speed is controled by the inverter to control the generator. Then the inverter controlled induction motor parameters are set up to complete the debugging. Finally, the PLC-PPU, NI-circuit emulator, inverter, induction motor and generator sets are combined to complete the semi-physical simulation platform. Based on the above, the simulations are obtained for different conditions such as the no-load start, cars and splitting, mutation load and so on.
