Research On The Form Design Of Roof Space In Contemporary Public Buildings

Researches are carried on the form design of roof space in contemporary public buildings in this architecture. The roof, one of the entire constituent elements of the building, in the highest position, is a focus of our visual pause. As the maintenance of the structure of the building, roof space is a dialectical contradictions continuum. Functionally it’s necessary to block the frost and weather and other adverse impact to the building interior, playing a role in the protection of interior space, while making a natural flow within inner and outer space, to play a key role in ventilation, lighting and heat insulation.The form design of roof space, on the one hand, is not only vitally important to the characteristics expression of the whole building as well as the space,but also, under the contemporary pluralistic society environment, it has a positive significance in the regional culture inheritance, shaping the environment image and other aspects.The study for the form design of the roof space, is not only a simple analysis of the appearance and styles but involves the deep analysis summary of the whole roof space construction techniques and design techniques.This paper conducts a study on the basis of architectural aesthetics, architectural typology, construction mechanics, environment-behavior, ecological theory, construct theory, multidisciplinary cross and other related theories. Through reviewing the finishing paper and electronic documents, collecting excellent works case, field visits and so on, and then Methods Comprehensive analysis is used. First the definition of the roof space form is described, and a simple analysis about the factors affected to the form of roof space is done, meanwhile discussing the historical development evolution of the roof space form in the western and eastern which are in different ideologies and different backgrounds. Secondly interpretation is made for the body shape of the roof space and then summarizing the various organizational relationships between the roof and the whole building. Followed by, the writer performs a detailed summary on the characteristics of roof space form shown in contemporary public buildings from functional features, emotional characteristics, structural modeling features, and aspects of others based on the analysis of a large number of outstanding works, then obtains several breakthrough points about the design methods of roof space form, namely, interface design and geometric shapes organizational design. Construction is not isolated, it exists in the city and the whole social environment, in the end of this paper, city properties and development trends of the roof space form are summarized.
