The generation of marine electrical bill of materials (BOM) is one of the main contents of marine electrical design. The electrical BOM of a ship typically involves tens of thousands of material records in nearly100sets of electrical system diagram, using the traditional methods to add up, classify and report them has low efficiency, and it is difficult to ensure its accuracy. Therefore, developing an automatically generation system for Marine electrical BOM will make positive sense for improving the design efficiency and quality.Based on Development of AutoCAD technology, we designed the overall scheme of the Marine Electrical BOM Generation System. On the base of intelligent understanding and modularizing of the electrical system drawing, automatically generated the electrical BOM. To begin with, we got a one-to-one correspondence from design information to system object by creating the system object model based on the object-oriented technology; next, created the device information knowledge base, by the integrated using of inference engine and ADO.NET database access technology, the system was able to intelligently understand and further modularize the design information in the drawings; later, in order to facilitate the modification of the statistical results and ensure the information consistency, we associated the statistical results modify event to the design message update event of the corresponding device using the windows message handling mechanism; finally, by using the ActiveX technology and integrated calling of the Excel and AutoCAD object model, the system was able to automatically add up the modularized design message and If-adaptively generate the electrical BOM.The Marine Electrical BOM Generation System has been completed. In the generation test of a tanker electrical BOM, the system successfully shortened the production cycle from90man-days in manual work mode to7man-days, and the accuracy was greatly improved as well.
