Modern researchers of Fengshui often divide this area into3schools, landscape architecture, literature and environmental. And the domestic study of Fengshui has three levels: pure theory research, on the basis of the theory and practice, as well as the inheritance of inspiration. Fengshui originated from China, but foreign researchers are keener on Fengshui. Due to the great change of natural geographical environment, together with the developing of branches of Fengshui, so far there has not formed a unique set of Fengshui philosophy system. People in the modern society have some superficial Fengshui knowledge which is mixed and hard to argue. This paper explains the Chinese traditional Fengshui theory, while the origin and related theoretical research of the construction site, the settlement location and developing with "The book of changes" are analyzed and summarized. Fengshui concept will be summed up as "Two Systems and One Culture", which means that Fengshui is the evaluation system of ecological environment for the ancient Chinese finding auspicious building places; Fengshui is a kind of ancient and unique Chinese building standards system; it is also a traditional culture to reach the harmony between the environment and buildings. This paper expounds the Chinese traditional Fengshui theory application and research in the building location and construction, the ways to find the bonding point of traditional Fengshui culture and modern urban planning. It tries to interpret the Fengshui principles of the locations selecting and the landscape designing by personal understanding, especially the basic requirements of site selection, construction model and building orientation which are required by the Chinese traditional Fengshui theory. It explains the applications of Fengshui principles in the internal building function setting by applying the important school of "Eight-Houses" and "Nine Flying Stars" of traditional Fengshui theory. The Chinese traditional Fengshui theory is also widely applied in landscape architecture design which has been developed as traditional Fengshui landscape. However, the modern Fengshui landscape is a broad concept; those landscapes with Fengshui elements can all be called FengShui landscapes, which can be divided into several main functional types as landmark, Evil-Spirit effect proof and Luck orientation. This paper also adopts the view of some popular Fengshui masters around the theme of "Fengshui application". By the case of Zhejiang food market construction project, this paper analyzes the influence of Fengshui culture on its building location, construction model, roads planning, and Fengshui landscape design. Through the practice of the case, it has summed up a set of applicable architectural design Fengshui operation method to modern city, which includes the using of Fengshui Situation theory to select Target block location, to determine construction orientation by the actual site environment, to design the modelling and layout for buildings under Fengshui principles, and to use Fengshui Liqi(vital energy regulating) theory to set up internal functions and to use the Fengshui landscapes to avoid bad effect of Evil spirit.
