With the development of high and new technology such as laser technology andaerospace weapon, laser ignition, a new ignition mode, has been widely popular with industryinsiders because of its prominent advantages. The laser ignition of artillery system has beenimproved on the aspects of structural design and firing accuracy, and can meet the needs ofmodern complicated combat environment. The artillery’s laser ignition mechanism isthermal mechanism, so reducing the loss of laser light transmission can improve theperformance of the entire ignition system. In view of the above issues, this thesis lays theemphasis on the new fiber laser and does researches on energetic materials’s laser initiationand coupling technology from the aspect of energy.This thesis does researches mainly on the aspect of laser energy in the process of ignition,which can be shown from the following:(1) Make an introduction of the thesis’s researchbackground and purpose.(2) Based on the theory of heat transfer, make the physical andmathematical modeling for the laser initiation process of the energetic materials. Define thelaser initiation characteristic function of a certain energetic material independently. Finallyuse the fluent software to do the simulation analysis for the characteristics of the laserinitiation with different powers.(3) Do the theoretical analysis for the different pump modesof the new fiber laser. Summarize the beam quality and the output power and produce thefiber laser with relatively satisfying pump modes.(4) Design the coupling lens group whichaccords with the artillery laser ignition system. Optimize the laser and the optical fibercoupling by using the ZEMAX optical software, in order to get the efficient coupled system.(5) Study the energy transmission loss of the laser with different wavelength in differentbending radius fiber.(6) Design the overall plan for the laser ignition system of a certain largecaliber artillery.The innovation can be seen from: (1) Define the laser initiation function of a certain energetic material independently.Use the fluent software to do the simulation analysis for the characteristics of the laserinitiation with different powers.(2) Design the coupling lens group which accords with the artillery laser ignition system.Optimize coupling efficiency by using the ZEMAX optical design software.
