In recent years, to alleviate the pressure of energy usage, a large number of nuclearpower stations has been fund and constructed by Chinese government. Moreover, nuclearpower has become the main approach to raise the usage proportion of non-fossil fuels andachieve targets on energy conservation and emissions reduction in China. During thepower operation process of nuclear power plant reactor, a large amount of heat will begenerated. Through diversion system, a huge amount of seawater will be extracted in orderto cool down conventional and nuclear islands; meanwhile, desalting water will also besupplied to station. Water extraction building is the most important part of water diversionsystem. It controls the amount of seawater that taken into the station and has a direct impacton operation of nuclear power plant. Hence, a top security level around this building isessential.Herein, regarding to an analysis on dynamic response and flow field simulation ofwater-in building at LiaoDong nuclear power station, following researches wereconducted:(1)By using SolidWorks solid modeling technology, a solid model of water-inbuilding was constructed, and space simulation was applied to the construction process ofwater-in building. Water-in building onsite rock seepage and seawater impact analysiswere conducted by using Midasā€“GTS, which reveals the water-in building site rockseepage results characteristics. Moreover, the influence of seawater on the rule of thechange of structure stress and displacement were also discussed under differentcircumstances.(2) By means of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Midas-GTS, the transient analysis ofwater-in building was conducted under different working condition at various seawaterlevels. Four types of working conditions were generated by grouping different seawaterlevel and seismic wave direction condition. Results reveal the effect of soil backfill onbuilding under earthquake, and the rule and distribution of the change of structure stressand displacement field were also discussed under different seawater level workingcondition. (3) Flow Simulation of water-in buildings at historical highest tide level, historicallowest tide, six maintenance condition and winter ice period conditions were analyzed byusing Solidworks The distribution velocity under different working conditions wasachieved. Water-in building outlet velocity was converted into cooling unit inlet velocity toverify whether the amount of water flow meet the needs of the cooling unit under thesecondition. The paper carried out fishing nuclear power plant water intake structure dynamicresponse and flow field simulation analysis, and guided the entity engineering, but for thesimilar coastal nuclear power plant and draining diversion project construction experienceto provide reference.
