| With the influence of the economic development and internationalization,construction industrialization accelerates the update of architectures. Therefore, thecultural, regional and artistic characteristics of architectures are ignored in differentdegrees. Heritages of architectures and landscapes which have incomplete beautyfeatures are not valued or even have been removed in many places. Consequently, it isimportant to investigate the deformity of architecture aesthetics systematically andtheoretically to help saving these heritages and improve the design of modernbuildings and environment.This thesis summarizes the investigation of incomplete beauty theories and theirapplications in architecture. By introducing the origin of the western incompletebeauty and the counterpart in oriental philosophy and art, the understanding ofincomplete beauty is expanded based on the oriental perspective. Subsequently, theauthor analyses the characteristics and experiences of the incomplete beauty ofarchitectures and landscapes in the combination of oriental and western perspective.The creating of the incomplete beauty in modern architectural and environmentaldesign is studied based on the above analysis and the design project of the MeishanCultural Park. This work is also for the enrichment of the modern content of theMeishan Culture in material and theoretical aspect.This thesis contains six chapters. Chapter1introduces the significance andresearch method as well as some definition of this thesis. Chapter2presents intensiveliterature review of the development of incomplete beauty in architecture, gaps in thisfield, and the oriental vision of the incomplete beauty. In Chapter3, thecharacteristics of the deformity in architecture aesthetics and their aesthetic processare researched based on the analysis of incomplete beauty in heritages of architectureand environment. In chapter4, the creating of incomplete beauty in modernarchitectural and environmental design is investigated. Based on the design project ofthe Meishan Cultural Park, the significance of incomplete beauty in modernarchitectural and environmental design is presented in chapter5. The conclusionsummarises previous analyses and states the novel points as well as the prospect ofthis research. This thesis is based on the design project of Meishan Cultural Park,contribute a lot to the theories of architectural design and the exploration of modern expression of the Meishan Culture. This thesis can provide theories and instructionsto the creating of incomplete beauty in architectures and boosts the unique aestheticvalue and it’s creating methods in protection of landscape heritages in China. |
