As the development of society and economy technology innovation, people’s lifewas shifted to spiritual and cultural life from the material life. As the progressing ofaesthetic, people begin to pursue the fashionable quality life. Home furnishing lifepresents people’s esthetic sentiment on fashion and quality. According to theinvestigation of Social Survey Institute of China (SSIC), the consumption capacityof home furnishing accessories in Chinese market can be high up to20billion to30billion RMB Yuan a year. This shows the development of social economy directly ledto the increase of mass consumption levels and the renewing of aestheticconsciousness induced Consumption on higher level of the spice of life. Fashion,quality, personality has become the indispensible subject in popular home furnishing.More and more people began to pay attention to the design of home furnishingsupplies. It creates a visual aura directly and leads people to enter the furnishing lifeof a fashionable, quality and a personalized home. However, comparing with themajor brands of foreign home furnishing supplies, the companies of home furnishingindustry in our own country has weaknesses of large number of companies, smallscale and low quality. Hence, it makes the home furnishing industry entering abottleneck. Many home furnishing brands in our own country have problems of design,which caused ambiguity of designing concept, obscured designing trends and lowquality. Consequently, it affects our fashion aesthetic. Specifically, it shows in thefollowing three aspects: first, there is a lack of diversity and originality in design.Second, blindly following the trend without own characteristics. Third, the processfor crafting is rough and the product display falls behind. Based on the aboveproblems and according to the connotation of fashion, this research focuses on theconcept of home furnishing products design:From the design and the aesthetic, combined with sociology, psychology,communication, consumption behavior and related knowledge, this paper looks atfashion’s aesthetics and cultures. It discusses the connotation of fashion, analyses theessence and source of modern aesthetic, expounds the relationship between fashionand design from the revolution of the concept of Design, and promotes the designideology of home furnishing. According to the nostalgia complex of modern people, this paper summarizes that nostalgia is the eternal theme of fashion. According to theresearch above, combined with current home furnishing fashion and the excellentcases from others and the author, this paper explains how to represent the fashionfeatures and the warm atmosphere with the form, decoration function, technology andmaterial. It suggests a trend and direction of the future development of the homefurnishing in our country, and it expects to contribute greater areas in designers’method, concept, modeling and other factors. Hence promoting the development ofhome furnishing in our country.
