In recent years, with the development of the power electronic technology,computer technology and automatic control technology, permanent magnetsynchronous servo motors are more and more widely used in many high-tech fields. Ithas a lot of advantages such as small size, low loss, high efficiency, high reliability,therefore, the permanent magnet synchronous servo motors become one of the bestactuator of a high-precision, micro-feed servo system. As the increasing in people’srequirements of the performance, function and cost-effective of the servo controlledproduct, it has important relevance and practical value to research and develop thehigh-performance servo motor.In this paper, a variety of rotor structures of the rare earth permanent magnetsynchronous motor and their characteristics are described, and magneticcharacteristics and operating principles of the motor are analyzed. For specialperformance of the motor and the working conditions, the basic structure of the motoris also analyzed in detail. Meanwhile, the no-load magnetic circuit, no-load operationand steady state performance are studied in depth. Since the motor is used in servodrives, so the design requirement is relatively high.The electromagnetic field is also analyzed in the paper, while the motor rotorstructure and the winding structure are designed. Take the effect of electromagneticload on the servo motor performance into consideration, electromagnetic loads aredesigned reasonably, and it meets the requirments of high power density and highdynamic performance of the motor. By using the Maxwell2D, the finite elementanalysis model of the motor is created, and various electromagnetic parameters of theservo motor is analyzed in detail. And then, rational electromagetic design and finiteelement analysis are given. At last, the structure and manufacturing process of motorwere researched in-depth, and the motor structure is given full consideration. Thedesign of the rare-earth permanent magnet synchronous motor also has importantreference value for optimal design of other type motor.
