Indoor lighting communication system is a indoor wireless communication technology based onwhite LED, it is developed in recent years and could also be called indoor visible communicationsystem. This technology is safe and energy saving. Moreover, it has no electromagneticinterference,and don’t have to apply for electromagnetic spectrum.So, it could be a great candidatein some special places. This thesis discusses the lighting source model, the channel model and thesystem performance of indoor lighting communication system.Specifically, it contains the followingworks.Firstly, in this thesis the author analyses the traditional lighting source model, proposes aoptimizing criterion of this system and optimizes this model through considering the factors thataffect the illumination distribution of the receiver plane. In this way, the need of indoor illuminationcould be satisfied and the required number of LEDs is decreased by nineteen percents.Secondly, in this thesis the author proposes a new lighting source model according to thecharacters of indoor environment and the luminescence property of LED arrays. In this model thenumber of LED arrays increases to nine. It is proved that this program can decrease the requirednumbers of LEDs by twenty-two percents through mathematical analysis and simulation.Thirdly,we study the communication performance of the new model by analyzing thecharacteristics of LOS link and non-LOS link. We also discuss two different situations that opticalsignal reflect once and twice in this indoor environment,and analysis the impulse response of thechannel by simulation. In this thesis, LOS link and the three parts of the light signal reflection aredenoted by one matric and three matrics respectively. By this way, the channel environment couldbe reused and the computational efficiency improved.Finally, in this thesis the reason about the production of multipath effect and its influence to thesystem have been analyzed.We also give the SNR and BER performance of our system bysimulations.
