| With the advancement of smart grid development, transmission and distribution lines online monitoring equipment as an important part of which has been widely applied. The stability of its energy supply device is particularly prominent. This design uses a current transformer (CT) combined with solar cells to take power, and takes rechargeable lithium battery as back-up. The three power supply means ensure the reliability of moni-toring equipment. In this paper, the problems that how to overcome the bus current’s in-stability and reduce its current dead zone for CT are studied. And in addition, the CT’s secondary side over-voltage protection and energy recycling circuit is specially designed. Furthermore, with the super-capacitor’s energy storage effect and large capacity charac-teristic, the feasibility that using the super-capacitor as the energy store device of solar cells is analyzed. And simultaneously, the power supply outputs power through capacitor of which characteristic is put in research with instantaneous high power and high current are in demand when the monitoring equipment includes a data transmission device such as RF/GSM/GPRS, etc. Then a power management circuitry is designed to ensure the power supply works in the best mode, and switches seamlessly between each other ways. This paper presents two design schemes and both are simulated by Saber to prove their feasibility. Finally, a prototype is made for one scheme and after the actual test, the de-vice works stably with good results. |
