In China, the reinforced concrete frame structure is a kind of common structure form. Atpresent, the performance-based deformation limit studies of component tend to mature both athome and abroad, and yet the research of structural performance-based deformation index hasjust provided a general reference value. The performance-based seismic design idea waspreliminarily introduced in the current "Seismic Design Code (GB50011-2010)" of China,which carried out4performance objectives,3seismic levels,7performance levels and gavelayer displacement reference index of each performance level. But the reference index has nostrict statistical significance. This paper aims to give a quantitative classification method ofstructure performance level, which can obtain structural layer displacement angleperformance-based limit value on the basis of the component deformation limit. This researchmainly contains the following several aspects:1. This paper collected tongji university12-layer reinforced concrete frame shakingtable model test data. PERFORM-3d is used to simulate dynamic time history analysis ofnonlinear structural model with fiber model. By contrasting vertex absolute acceleration timehistory and vertex relative displacement time history curve between the analysis model andthe test model, it was found that they can well be identically matched. It shows that thestructural model has higher reliability and the parameter selection is reasonable.2. Referring to literature at home and abroad, and the Chinese code for the descriptionof structure in each performance level, the structural seismic performance is divided into fivelevels in this paper. The author proposes a kind of quantitative method to classify structureperformance level to describe the relationship between structure performance level andcomponent performance level. In addition, this paper introduces the previous research ofcomponent performance-based deformation limit which is based on material strain.3. According to the current code, the author designed28reinforced concrete framemodels with different seismic fortification intensity and different height, selected five naturalwaves and two artificial waves, and used PERFORM-3d to analyze the above models, thenuse the above quantitative division method to find out the structure layer displacement anglelimit of each performance level. After data processing, this research generalizes the layerdisplacement angle performance-based limit value of the reinforced concrete frame structure.
