As a country Chinahas vast territory and lush water system, hence many city developments depend on rivers andlakes. However, in this development processes, people always obtain the resource from watersystem and continues to damage water system, which results in lose the symbioticrelationship between rivers and cities. Although some cities pay attention to protect and userivers, they are sameness, since they do not consider the character from their regional factorsto creating a waterfront landscape for themselves in order to improve development of cities.How to explore potential of native cultural perspective and develop native characteristicthrough waterfront landscape to active development of cities, it is a question we mustconsider it..This essay will analyse effects of regional factors on urban waterfront landscape and useproject of Landscape Design in YuXi Waterfront Park in Yulin as a example. It will fromurban planning perspective discuss mutual impacts between waterfronts and urbandevelopment as well as how to highlight regional characteristic.YuLin is located in North of Shannxi and HuangTu highland. It has unique climate,geographic environment and historic background, leading to this area not only has bold andliberality of HuangTu culture, also tender and elegant like south China.The regional characteristics of Yulin are local people’s results, which are formed byproduction, people living in harmony with nature and influence in each other. It shows lushform, covering and permeating into all aspects of life, architecture, folk arts and crafts,which are integrated into strong elements of region and cultural. Unique cultural connotationin the historical development process, she formed the eclectic mind to attract scholars, artists,designers put into this piece of land. From landscape design, there is a significant guiding toexploring the relationship between regional features at all levels to create the regionalcharacteristics of the modern landscapeThe aim of this essay provide new design ideas, methods and inspiration about urbanplanning,landscape rebuilding and design through the author practise and participate in this project of YuLin as well as exploring, summering and concluding about the regionalcharacteristics of YuLin and designing in this case. |
