The river is the origin of human culture, each world famous citiy has a famous river with it.The development of city at the river will inevitably experience three stages that is "along the river-cross the river-hold the river".The river-crossing channel construction is precondition of the river city development. Mountain river-crossing city because of its unique topography characteristic, the river-crossing traffic flow distribution focus, the river channel often becomes congestion node of the urban traffic network, serious impact on the urban road network service level and restricts the development of the city. The river-crossing traffic problem is in priority need to be solved in development of mountain river-crossing city. The rational layout of river-crossing channel has very important significance on development of the mountain river-crossing city.From the foundation of the transportation theory, the paper summarizes the characteristics of the connotation and levels of the structure and related theory of transport corridors; The river-crossing city development evolution process and the river-crossing channel various forms to make a detailed explanation, and to take the typical the mountain river-crossing city Chongqing as an example, this paper analyses the developing condition and history of the mountain river-crossing city, and analyses traffic characteristics of the mountain river-crossing city; Analyzed the limitation of the common river-crossing transportation demand forecasting method, the paper proposes combination across-river traffic forecast model of the grey prediction and artificial neural network.This method can forecast the river-crossing traffic with higher precision in restricted condition that lack of OD data; Based on location theory, the induced theory and threshold theory, the paper analyses the layout principle of river-crossing channel in the mountainous city and the river-crossing channel layout problem, and uses double deck decision programming model to analyse the river-crossing channel layout optimization; With the improvement of M (1,1) model,the paper finally predicts arcoss-river traffic in Chongqing Liangjiang New District, and puts forward reasonable suggestions on layout of Chongqing Liangjiang New District.
