In recent years, as the sustained and rapid development of social economy in ourprovince, the urban population is growing too fast, water resources is becomingincreasing scarce, the emissions of pollutants in industrial, agricultural and life isincreasing and the protection of water resources and water pollution are laggingbehind. The above factors have led to the contradiction between supply and demandof water resource in China. In order to adapt to the requirements of socialdevelopment, alleviate the contradiction between supply and demand of waterresources and meet the "urbanized" needs in Shandong province, water in Wohushanreservoirby is transformed from agricultural water to urban life water in the late1980’s. However, upstream of the reservoir origin area (Jinxiuchuan, Jinyangchuan,Jinyunchuan), atural condition and social development result in significant changes inWohushan reservoir, comparing to sixties and seventies of last century. The reductionof water in Wohushan reservoir is a serious threat to the Jinan City water andsocio-economic development. In this work, we take Wohushan reservoir of Jinan as a typical demonstrantionplot. Wohushan reservoir located at Zhonggong town in the south of Licheng area ofJinan city. As the main function of comprehensive large reservoir, Wohushan reservoirplay an important role in the following aspects, for examples, flood control, municipalwater supply, farm irrigation and so on. Water in Jinan city is supplied by Wohushanreservoir and jinxiuchuan reservoir in1988. Water supply scale is5.0x107kg/d,reservoir basin area is557km2and the yearly average water amout0.1233x108m~3.Based on the SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) distributed hydrological modelof river, this research simulate Reservoir Basin Wohushan daily rainfall runoff process, which provide decision-making basis for the safety and operation of the reservoiroperation. The detail contents and research results are as below:1. This paper introduced the basic situation of Wohushan reservoir, includinggeographical position, topography condition, climate and meteorological conditions and water supply. We collect the following information to collate, for example, thedevelopment of social and economic, the basin meteorological data site spatialdistribution and nearly five years, the meteorological data and rainfall runoff data inthe last five years..2. Set up Wohushan reservoir basin digital elevation model. Based on1:1000,000topographic map data to the existing reservoir basin, and digital processing isimplemented after scanning, then we made a CAD mapping which is analysesnecessarily, then it will be the introduction geographic information system ArcGIS9.2special software, so the horizontal grid resolution for the10m of river basin precisedigital elevation model is generated that is DEM.3.The SPOT satellite Images in2009years (spatial resolution of10meters) andland The TM Images of satellite in1987years (spatial resolution for The30m) hasbeen adopted. We preprocess remote sensing images for image, making of remotesensing image processing software ENVI (The Environment for Visualizing Images)Version4.2which has been developed by systems Research Company in America. Weset up land use type of database, using of RS technology.4. We edit and prepare the soil database which is needed by SWAT, weathergenerator database and other small reservoir basin of the database. Based on theSWAT valley Wohushan reservoir distributed hydrological model, we simulate theprocess of daily rainfall runoff from2007to2011years and output the simulationresults.5. Accordind to the thory of SWAT model,we choose ten parameters such as ESCO、REVAPMN、EPCO and so on to reflect the rule of flow simulation in Wohushan reservoir after thesensitivy analysis. And determine the reasonable value of these parameters through the modelrating.Through the model we know that the simulation inflow in2007and2008are more than themeasured amount of6.25%and17.63%.However, the simulation inflow in2009is lesser than themeasured amount of1.91%. Validation period the simulation inflow in2010is lesser than themeasured amount of13.71%,and the simulation inflowin2011is more than the measured amountof12.73%. 6. Using the already rate good parameter of the hydrological model, we simulateWohushan reservoir of watershed runoff, with frequency respectively25%,50%and75%of the abundant rainfall as input, and eventually determine the Jinxiuchuan、Jinyunchuan、Jinyangchuan and Wohushan reservoir basin’s corresponding waterproduction.
