Housing issue is an eternal theme of human society. Residential quarter green area is an important part of urban landscape green space, and one of the frequently used areas of residential, it’s also an important part of promoting the development of city healthy development.The quality of residential district plants landscape has risen greatly, with the development of economy and improvement of the living standard. Study residential district plants landscape based on the conditions of residents is an essential method to improve residential district plants landscape design in NanChang.Select eight residential district in NanChang, and combine data collection and field survey to identify the floristic, community structure and plant application, and proceed from the user’s angle based on POE Pattern to research information about usage condition. Based on the data analysis results and observation and interview, combining the principle of garden aesthetics, environmental psychology, ecology and landscape architecture, to compare and evaluate according to its functionality, sociality, naturalization ecology and artistry. Conduct research on residential plant landscape diversity and plant application through generalization, conclusion and analysis, and to present existing problems of residential district plants in NanChang, in that to generalize a plant landscape mode that can for the people and meet residents physical and mental need.Studies have shown that the variety of plant in the living places of Nanchang city is few. Some plants are frequently appeared. More work should be done in the application of the flowering shrubs. The evergreen shrubs are variously used and the types of them are almost the same. The use of Liana for decoration is rare. More work should be done in vertical greening. Some good new varieties, such as aquatic plants, earth—grown plants are rarely used. Through questionnaires and interviews, we found that results and the subjective feelings of the residents reached the same. On this basis, I summed up the planting structure of the five kinds of plants growing in Nanchang. They are arbor-shrub-grass-flower-lawn type, arbor-shrub-lawn type, arbor-lawn type, shrub-lawn type, only-lawn type. At the same time, I put forward some proposals for the optimization of the plants in the living places of Nanchang.Make questionnaire and interview according to the POE model, it’s showed that48.3%residents think that the number of winter ornamental woody plants is not enough, and67.2%residents of lower floors think that they have a lighting problem. The results conform to the plant landscape evaluation index in NanChang.
