With the rapid expansion of Chang-Zhutan urban integration, people’s demand of landscape gruadully rised. The application of herbaceous flowers play a vital role in landscape. However, due to scarcity of targeted scientific supports to these issues, the application study of herbaceous flowers still stays on a beginning level. This paper, on the base of research on application of herbaceous in Chang-Zhutan district, discussed and demonstrated the theory and methods of the herbaceous flowers in Chang-Zhutan district by synthetizing literatures and field research.Firstly, categorise the greenlands of Chang-Zhutan district and summarize varieties of herbaceous flowers and the problem lies in that through investigation.Secondly, according to weather characteristic of Chang-Zhutan district, summarize the growing factors of herbaceous flowers. And deduce the appropriate herbaceous flowers to the weather feature, come up with the design principle and procedure which suit this area. The design metheds of herbaceous flowers are based on colors, aspection, facedes and plan-combination, which can be used to5classes of greenlands.Thirdly, this paper suggest,combining theory and practice, the conclusion may be used to the landscape reforming of Xiaoxiang Road in Changsha to confirm the rationality and scientificalness of this paper.Applying herbaceous flowers to urban green space, not only satisfied the ecological need and beautified the environment, but also reflected the diversity of urban landscape. This paper discusses the variety of herbaceous and and design procedures which are suitable for Chang-Zhutan district, in order to offer some theories for the practise research of this area.
