It is inconceivable for keeping food in refrigerator before20th, and also unimaginable if fridge disappeared from our life.The industry of fridge has been faced with a situation of supply exceeding demand which comes along with market saturation, serious homogenization, and people’s new needs. Some technologies of fridge just like preservation, sterilization, rapid cooling techniques have been applied to almost all refrigerator. Most of them were on a high level that can’t be exceeded. So, manufactories must be chosen to renew their products with the help of the appearance design. It is important to consider how to design products on behalf of human requirement when living in a experience society.In this thesis, the author chooses fridge which contact with the user closely as the object, leads the principle of user experience design into the research method in a creative way. The author analyzed why did human experience demands came about while the coming of experience economy and improvement of human demands. Then she pointed out the background of this thesis research after analyzing the history and actuality of fridge. Finally, according to Schmitt and Norman’s methods, the author does a deep research in fridge experience elements, character, and the way to express them. In conclusion, she summarized the principia and program of fridge experience design which may be the theory guidance for design.The Innovation of the thesis is that it brings user experience design theory to refrigerator design. The concept of "experience" has penetrated into every aspect of life and become the main expression of human emotion in the background of experience economy. Secondly, the refrigerator experience design should reflect space-time, culture and interactive features in respects of the senses and emotional level. Finally, With the help of these conclusions, the author tried to do a experience design of fridge which has been destined its customizing market.
